Triple Threat SAT Prep / Nsoromma School, Inc. instructors are diverse in terms of their skills and interests.  What they have in common is that they all bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and dedication to learning, and a great sense of commitment to our students.  Find out more about Nsoromma School, Inc. here

Esi Madge Gill Willis, Ph.D. – Director and  Co-Founder 
SAT, ACT, Math Enrichment

Dr. Willis has been involved in education in many roles for over 35 years. She has been a classroom teacher, school psychologist, college professor, and teacher trainer. Her work has focused on understanding how children learn and on developing the best environment and teaching strategies to facilitate educational excellence for children of African descent.  She has researched and published on the roles of culture and language in children’s learning and on successful schools for our children.
She earned her A.B. (Brown University in psychology), M.S. (University of Pennsylvania in psychological services in education), and Ph.D. (Georgia State University in educational psychology and under the direction of Dr. Asa G. Hilliard III) .
“Mama Esi,” as the students call her, and her husband, Kwabena, have two grown children, Jehuti, a graduate of Nsoromma and a mechanical engineering graduate of North Carolina A&T, and Kisa, a graduate of Howard  University.

Carol Phelps – 
SAT, ACT, Youth Entrepreneurship

Carol brings to Nsoromma a background in elementary education as well as an M.B.A. in finance and many years of experience as a financial analyst.  Not surprisingly, she teaches entrepreneurship and financial literacy at Nsoromma and has helped many students start and maintain successful businesses.  Carol has been an active promoter of entrepreneurship in the community and has worked closely with South West Atlanta Youth Business Organization (SWAYBO) and NFTE-related organizations for many years.   The mother of two children, her son Marcus is an Nsoromma graduate.

Ido Jamar, Ph.D. –
SAT, ACT, Math Enrichment

Idorenyin (Ido) Jamar, the Math Psychologist, is a great asset to Nsoromma School.  Ido has served on the faculty in Mathematics Education at the University of Pittsburgh and Bayero University (Kano, Nigeria) and has taught secondary mathematics in urban schools for over ten years.  She received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Cognitive Psychology and a B.A. in Applied Mathematics, all from Brown University.

Emmanuel Tillman –
SAT, ACT, Math Enrichment

Emmanuel Tillman is an instructor in the Triple Threat SAT Prep Course.  Emmanuel is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in systems engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan.  He and his wife are the parents of twin daughters who have participated in Nsoromma community programs.

Juba Lomotey –


Juba is an instructor in the Tripe Threat SAT and ACT prep courses.  He is a graduate of Mercer University and is currently a graduate student at Emory University in Theology/Theological Studies.  Juba works with young people in many capacities:  as a teacher, mentor, counselor and youth leader.  His interests include theater arts, marketing, and real estate investing.  He and his wife are the parents of two young children.
